Dr. Nicole Marquardt
Dr. Marquardt graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2002. She enjoys small animal medicine, and typically has office hours on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday. She grew up outside of Sycamore and is happy to be serving the Rochelle area. A busy wife and mom, she is involved in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, church, dance, and soccer with her 3 kids. Her furry, four legged family includes 2 dogs, 3 cats, some beef cattle, and 2 pygmy goats. In her free time she enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Steve Baker
Dr. Baker is a graduate of the University of Illinois Class of 1993. He grew up in Oregon and has been practicing veterinary medicine in the area since graduation. Besides doing small animal medicine here on Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday, Dr. Baker has an established large animal clientele through the Polo Animal Hospital. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys riding his FatBike, hiking, cross-country skiing, and swimming. He also keeps himself very busy farming and raising beef cattle.
Our veteran employee, Sue, has worked for the Rochelle Veterinary Hospital since 1999. She is in charge of ordering all of the Hill's Science Diets and has a vast knowledge of the veterinary diets. A true animal lover, she has 3 dogs and 4 cats. In her free time, Sue enjoys shopping at thrift shops and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Michelle joined the clinic in 2005 as a part-time receptionist and moved to full-time in 2010. She loves reading, bowling, crafting, traveling, and attending sporting events. She is a White Sox, Bears, and Bulls fan. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family and loved ones. "I am blessed to have the best job in the world and to be a part of a great team at RVH," she says. Her furry friends at home include "Midnite", "Oreo", and "Wolfie", all of which she has had since they were wee little kitties.
Certified Veterinary Technicians
Stephanie loves working at the Rochelle Veterinary Hospital and has been here since 2009. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at Fox College in 2009 and is a certified veterinary technician. Steph is also working as a receptionist on Fridays and Saturdays. She has 2 dogs and 2 cats. Stephanie enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with the people she loves.
Louise has worked with Drs. Baker and Marquardt for many years, and she is happy to have come over to the Rochelle Veterinary Hospital in 2010. She graduated from the Bel-Rea Veterinary Technology program in 2003 as a certified veterinary technician. She lives in Polo with her husband, 3 dogs, 3 cats, and many fish. Louise enjoys gardening and hanging out in her flowerbeds, spending time with her family, and traveling.
Kennel Staff/Technician Assistants
Carla has been part of the kennel staff at the Rochelle Veterinary Hospital since 2008. She is dedicated to taking care of the boarding animals and loves them like they are her own. Carla also assists the veterinarians and technicians. She is the proud owner of 1 dog and 3 cats. All of Carla's pets were rescued from our stray program. She enjoys relaxing at home, reading, and bowling.
Val is the newest member to the Rochelle Vet family. She has been employed with us since May 2012. Val is part of the kennel staff, and also assists the veterinarians and technicians. Val has 1 rabbit, 1 cat, and 2 dogs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, camping, and working with the animals.
We are very excited to have Cindy as our groomer at the Rochelle Veterinary Hospital. She started grooming here in 2012, but has been grooming for over 30 years. Cindy feels blessed to work in a profession where she can share her love of animals. She has 3 dogs and Andalusian horses. Outside of work, she enjoys books, the outdoors, traveling, and is a practicing Reiki Master.
